Rebuilding a Mobile Detailer's Digital Presence: From a Dead Website to Online Booking

The Challenge

The website was down. The site that did exist was full of fake placeholder content, including a made-up jobs page. Branding was inconsistent, pricing did not match how the business charges, a former developer still had admin access, and there was no way to book or request a quote without calling.

That matters. Home service companies miss about 27% of inbound calls, and up to 85% of callers who reach voicemail never call back. For a detailer mid-job on a customer's driveway, phone-only booking means losing customers to whoever picks up.

What We Built

We split the work into five phases so each could stand alone.

Phase 1, restore and secure. Full backup first, then we revoked the former developer's access, got the site back online, removed all fake content, rebuilt the services page with accurate pricing, and applied one global color scheme. We added GA4 and Microsoft Clarity so later decisions run on data.

Phase 2, booking and payments. Bookedin put services, calendar sync, and payments in one place and went live fast. Deposits protect the operator's time: a flat $25 on standard services and 10% on premium ones. Paint correction and ceramic coating do not get booked blind. Those go through a quote page with vehicle-specific fields and photo uploads, so the operator can price a $300 to $800 job before driving out.

Results

Site statusDownLive, secure, on-brand
Online bookings030 to 40 (roughly 30% of jobs)
Quote requests012 to 18, with 5 to 7 converting to premium work

Scheduling time by phone and textBaseline5 to 8 hours saved per month

The revenue projection assumes a typical ticket of about $150 per vehicle, plus the premium quote conversions above.

What We Learned

Bookedin has no API, no webhooks, and no Zapier integration, so nothing outside the platform can trigger from a booking. It was the right call to get booking live quickly, and we flagged the limit early. It is also why Phase 5 replaces it. Choose tools for where the business is going, not just where it is today.

Where Things Stand

Phase 3 is local SEO, aimed at the Atlanta Map Pack, where about 44% of local clicks go to the top three businesses. Phase 4 is paid search, Local Services Ads, email, and social. Phase 5 moves booking to GoHighLevel for booking, CRM, and SMS in one place, with a website chat assistant, missed-call text-back, and automated reminders and re-booking. Both systems run in parallel during the migration so there is no downtime.

Why It Matters

Fix trust problems before you spend on marketing, because nobody should send traffic to a site that is down or full of fake content.
